Six nations prices for 2014 are out, €77 for a Cat1 Wales ticket and €62 for a cat1 ticket for Scotland and Italy games. Very reasonable.

Yeah got the email from the Leinster Branch today, nice to see those prices.
A decent showing in the Autumn matches should ensure a high demand for the 6N at those prices.

€77 to sit down in a soulless Aviva Stadium?

I reckon the outcome of todays game will impact ticket availability. If we win, everyone will want to go to the 6N.

Normally your best bet is to go through a local club. What clubs don't sell go back to the IRFU who then put them on ticketmaster. In general terms there are often returns for Scotland / Italy games but rarely for Wales / England / France.

Your other option (for next season) is the supporters club but not everyone gets a ticket there either.

Failing that get involved in the corporate world. They always seem to have big fat car lunches on match days!

    they won't most likely.

I'd be surprised if none of the 6N tickets go on public sale. Italy, Scotland, and Wales are usually the lowest draw for fans, and this season we've Scotland and Wales in our first and second game.

I'm looking to get tickets for the Wales game, as a christmas present for husband. Do ye think they will go on sale through ticketmaster before Christmas? Thanks :)

i think your first port of call should be to your local rugby club.

I know the tickets from ours are being snapped up fast, going to the scotland game myself.

Italy should prove to be a very big draw this season - BOD's last ever home 6N game.

Buy a pair of knee pads and be prepared to beg.
Seriously, they're always like gold dust. It's one of the biggest days in the corporate calendar so tickets are extremely scarce.

Why would Ulster Rugby have them and not the other provinces? That doesn't seem fair. :(

Payment for the different gaames is due in January and then the tickets are distributed towards the end of that month and during February.

First time I have looked into getting tickets myself for 6N's. What a joke. I have to pay €50 a year for the opportunity to get a ticket. Failing that, I have to get it through my club, I don't have a club. Do any of them ever make it general release?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 342 ✭✭Dunder Mifflin

I'd say if there are any left over at the end they'll go on general release.

Does anyone know what the limits will be per person buying from the IRFU supporters club? I think they're going to announce it on Monday, someone was saying it'd probably a max of 2 per person. What were the limits in previous years?

The email says that they will tell us on Monday, which seems a bit stupid to me - why not tell us now? But if anyone can tell us what it was in previous years, that would be great.

Ok I to am looking to buy tickets for the six nations, I'm just wondering if I sign up to the supporters club now will that mean I'll be able to buy as many tickets as I want from them on Tuesday (I need 4 - 6 tickets)? Also it vaguely mentions on the website that it could take up to 28 days to process, does that mean i'm to late?

Does anyone know what the ticket limit is??

Is there any other way of getting the tickets without registering with the IRFU? For instance would I be able to purchase them on Tuesday from my county rugby club or through individual province clubs??

Which is the best(almost guaranteed method of getting tickets?)

Also Do they go on sale like ticketmaster or have people already applied in advance?

I'm in the same boat as you Froggy123. I'm looking for 4 tickets for the Wales game & was wondering if I could get all 4 with membership of the supporters club.
Has anyone ever bought multiple tickets through the club? What's the limit?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,474 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

This sale could be possibly 4 tickets per member. Since I joined the club in Jan 2008 this had been the earliest 6 nations there has been for me and I Hve been successful in all sales to date (hope I don't jinx myself lol). There were quite a few tickets around the autumn games so Id reckon similar numbers for the 6 nations 2014 unless the irish clubs allocation has gone up ( which is very likely). I'm hoping to get tickets to the welsh and Scottish game.

The welsh game will Hve huge demand, Italy and possibly Scotland will Hve less demand and will be easy enough to get tickets to them on Tuesday . Best of luck to all for the sale

In a queue, fingers crossed for 2 tickets for Wales game, will make someone very happy this Christmas.

IRFU site's estimate of "less than one minute" seems to be as bad as microsofts.

Usual frustrations with Supporters club sale abound; was logged in at 9.55, all looked well then page became unavailable and kicked me out. Had to wait in q for 4 minutes to be told I was logged in already. Now in the "ticket sales" q. I hope it's the right place, I actually pulled the URL from my history as opposed to clicking a link as there was none once i was told I was logged in.....7 minutes from getting to ticket sales.

Scratch that; now 43 minutes from the top of the queue

Edit at 10:10: back to 3 mins waiting time now. (after 2 minutes waiting)

Edit at 10:13: "Less than a minute" and it now says "Connecting" in the browser title instead of "Please Wait". I feel a timeout coming on....

Edit at 10:18: Got into a page that tells me tickets will go on sale at 10am. Had to click "Buy tickets" and get a new waiting time of 4 minutes...

Edit at 10:26: Got 2 Cat 1 tickets for all games.

Yep - two of us here, both members, on two laptops, got two Category 1 tickets each for each of the matches......we were told 15 minutes, then 6, then 4 then straight in. Option of three tickets for Wales match didn't work, and turned itself back to zero, so beware. Happy days! :D
