Am I the only one who doesn't get this love of rugby a lot of people have adopted in the country in the past 8 years or so. The Irish rugby team have to be the most overrated, over hyped team this country has ever produced in any sport. They seem completely devoid of criticism from the general public. The soccer team get absolutely slated by the public over their results despite participating in sport that has participation in every single country. The soccer team also have to qualify for competitions. 10 countries play rugby. The rugby team do not have this task yet they've only managed to to reach the quarter final and no further. Absolutely laughable. They have managed one Grand Slam in over 50 years. To win a Grand Slam they've to beat 4 other nations and more recently 5 nations with two of the toughest opposition at home. Yet they have only managed one Grand Slam. They lost to New Zealand 100-0, Italy and mighty Scotland in the past year. Yet i hear on the radio, hosts describing Jamie Heaslip, Cian Healy and the likes as "national heroes"

All over Twitter and Facebook you see women describing themselves as "rugby fans" Laughable.

Ok, you don't like rugby, got it.

Why don't you let people enjoy it?
Ever think that the football teams get slated more because there's more attention on them?
Also I believe I've heard Roy Keane, Robbie Keane and Shay Given etc hailed as "national heroes" aswell.
    It goes both ways.

Then don't reply. You could say that to any thread that you don't have an interest in

Women like rugby more than any other sport. Their fawning over them is pathetic.

    Awful bee in your bonnet

Get over it, if you don't like rugby don't watch or follow it. Ranting here about how much you hate a sport is pretty sad

Also this is bull****. Rugby is not as popular here as soccer but if you think the Irish rugby team can do no wrong I suggest you read the critique of the national team on the rugby forum over the last 3 years

    They're into camogie too.

    You sound angry.

Maybe you'd like a cup of tea? Some milk?

Or perhaps a cup of vinegar for that massive chip on your shoulder?

well you do have a point, imagine how much of a pain in the hole we would be if we had half of Wales success of the last few years!! We win a grandslam and we think we're gods even though the rest of the 6 nations teams were pretty poor that year!

    I love it though..
