Hi all, I have a question about criminal records/ airport customs!!

Basically when i was in 5th year of secondary school, we won a trip to Strasbourg (france)! While we were in Strasbourg we had found this shop that sells model guns, knives and other weapons! A couple of the lads bought ninja stars and knives and i had to be different so i bought a pair of knuckle dusters! I got stopped anyway at customs in a German airport when we were going back and everyone with the knives got through grand! He brought me away from everyone else with my teacher and asked me were these my knuckle dusters and i said yes! he told me they were legal in france but they were illegal in germany which is fair enough! Then he got me to fill in this form (dont ask me what it was about coz i was bricking it) and told me that if i wanted the knuckle dusters back i could go to court with it! i said i dont want them back! He then said i could have got an on the spot fine of €180 but as the plane was late there wasnt time for this! he then let me go!

I found paper work that he put in my bag but my teacher has it now and unfortunately i cant get it off her at this time!

This was 4-5 years ago and i think i was 17 or maybe i had just turned 18 at the time!

Im wondering if this is on my criminal record as i want to go to australia soon!!

Thank goodness you lot were so well supervised. That said the mischief I got up to in and around RAF Bruggen at 17/18 probably doesn't leave me room to comment.

I doubt you've anything to worry about, get the paper work and send off an email. I'm sure there will be some sort of information address. In fact my tireless research on the subject (5 seconds and google) have yielded enquiries.english@zoll.de and +49 351 44834-530.

Might I suggest you, initially, not mention the war or your name. Explain the situation and ask for general information.

The most likely scenario is that you signed a notice of abandonment. Basically giving up all your rights to the knife so they can destroy it.

Or that you signed a caution in the presence of your teacher for the offence.
