I started a new job last February and was put on tax code w to start with, this continued for a month or two so kept getting on to revenue and my own salary department to get it changed, it was finally changed this month to N with an extra hundred euros, I assume I am now on the correct tax bracket and this is my proper wage, my question is if it is my correct wage will it be back dated and if so will it be done automatically or will I have to chase it

The change from W to N indicates you've now been put on a Cumulative (or Normal) basis.

In paying you the extra 100 they've repaid you any amount you overpaid while on a Week 1 / Month 1 basis.

You'll probably find that your pay from now on is somewhere between what you were paid while on W and the amount you got this month (since it included a repayment from the first month or 2).

Without all the facts & figures it's impossible to say anymore.
