Renault Espace Card Reader

    I have a 03 Renault Espace and the key card wont click into place. I need to press the key in and press the button at eh same time for it to work. I sprayed the slot with air in case there was anything in there but no better. Any ideas?

    readers are interchangable & not coded to vehicle . get a good one from a breakers yard

    The key physical only fits in that slot and a small plastic latch clips in to the square hole in the key to keep it in place.

    The key is then read by radiowave in the slot.

    I suspect the little plastic latch is faulty.
    I'm not sure it can be bought separately
    The reader with card slot can be bought but will need to be programme to match car and keys.

    This might be better left to a renault dealer

    Edit : it might be possible to switch over card holder from one reader to another. Ive not tried it but suspect its possible.
