just a quick question, does anyone know how much it would cost me to get insurance ?

im 24 and only just got my license (obviously not a full license ) , im a male looking to get insurance on a 1.8 (i think) ford focus (which will be my first car) .

What range are we looking at here? does the fact that im 24 and not 17 help me out at all price wise?

    About €17,649 third party.

But in all seriousness, it's about as good a guess you'll get on here, as that's all we be doing. Ring the insurance companies and get a definite price, not a guess from some bloke on the internet.

Ring as many companies as you can to get the most cost effective quote.

You really need to call or get online quotes from most of the insurance companies/brokers. There are so many factors that will affect your premium.

It's really a how long is a piece of string question.

Youre going to be stacking the odds somewhat against yourself looking to insure a 1.8 with no license and no experience. I doubt being 24 is going to make a huge difference. Could you not start with something a bit smaller until you get your license and a build up a bit of experience and a NCB?

Being 24 means it is going to be even more expensive. And some insurers won't even quote (Aviva for example).

Try munstergroup insurance broker they very good for young drivers or first time. Still say youl be paying quiet abit for insurance on a 1.8 with only a provisional. Liberty do a online quotation too which is accurate enough.

You got a learner's permit, not a licence.

    Don't even bother. Try a starter car, a 1.0, 1.2 or 1.3

I think we need clarification on what the car is. Don't think there is such a thing as a 1.8, could be a 1.6 tho.

There is definitely a 1.8 diesels and I'm 99% sure there are 1.8 petrols too.
