Hi guys - really stumped here. TV ad for shampoo from what I remember, where a woman asks a man if he likes her hair - he is a farmhand and is tending to a cow at the time. He responds "It's nice and soft - just like daisy".

Can anyone help shed light on what advert this was, and what brand it advertised?

    Thanks in advance

Think it was some of the strangest results I ever got from a search, was also tips on how to grow your cow's hair quicker (and it said hair)!!

Yeah I remember that. The couple are having a "roll in the hay" literally:) The first time he touches her hair he says "all I can feel is this straw" Then when she uses the shampoo/conditioner in the Ad he says the line you are talking about "smooth and shiny just like Daisys"

It's from the very early 80's - no idea what the shampoo is though - so I am no help really.:)

Surely it was an ad for Rad-ox......

    I'll get my coat :o

I would have thought so too - but can't seem to find it on youtube

I cant find it either, but at the time Timotei were doing the grassy meadow, blonde-in-a-white- dress singy songy ads.

While trawling unsuccessfully through the net for the shampoo ad I came across this one which is one of my favourite all time ads from the 80's.
    Turn up the volume!
Hope the older ones enjoy :)

sorry to sabotage your thread but i wonder if people remember an add from the 80s where a child drowns in a barrell of water(water safety add) , and another one where foxes (i think it was) attack a load of sheep in a field, this one was animated. anyway as a child both adds scared the crap out of me:(

Here's one. Does anybody remember this ad for Coca Cola. It was a Christmas one and had a load of chickens (thousands of them) wearing boots (Santa boots as I recall) and marching in a line and clucking the Coca Cola song. I SWEAR it wasn't a dream, but no amount of Googling will find it, and nobody I know has ever seen it.

It was reals I tells ya.

I'll jump on the bandwagon and ask for an ad I'm looking for too.

It's a old one for something to the effect of a postman posting a VHS in a door and it's showing of Disneyland or something similar. Unfortunately that's all I have and I know it's very vague.

    Thanks for any help.

I don't to be perfectly honest. I said I'd just throw it out there and for some weird reason someone may have an answer. Only other info I know is I'm now 21 and it was when I was young so ~10 years ago I'd say.

Edit: Come to think of it, I think there was yellow water slides in the ad.

Good one Muise - I didn't twig that myself. Although the OP said they remembered the ad from their childhood. Most children would not associate their doggie killing sheep. Having said that I have yet to see a pack of foxes attacking sheep.

Well I am from sheep-farming country! The point of the ad was that pet dogs, if let loose, could go feral in packs and attack sheep. I think they called this "worryin' the ewes." The animation used to scare me too. :)

We were more or less wiped out by dogs nearly 30 years ago
We never kept sheep since other than a few pet lambs when the kids were growing up.
The ad at the time was very effective and maybe a newer version should be on the TV nowdays to remind dog owners.
