    Hi all,

Joined up to an 8 wk dressmaking course tonite & found out that no place in Louth to buy patterns other than Dublin....anyone know of any place in Louth/Meath/North Dublin? Just a simple pattern will do to pick up basics.

    Cheers

    Hi there
Try the colette website. Great clothes and very easy beginner patterns. There is also a free download for a basic sleeveless top called the sorbetto (I think, all the patterns have names). You can buy online and print the pattern on printer paper. You then just sellotape the a4 pieces together as per pattern guidelines and cut out. V easy and patterns vary in price. I have bought a couple and find them great with clear instructions. If you don't see anything you fancy, the burda, simplicity and others offer print your own patterns too as far as I know.
    Happy sewing! :)

Actually now I think of it there is a craft shop called the crafty fox in rathoath or drogheda. They have a website so it might tell you if they stock patterns.
