    Hi there,

I have just completed a degree in counselling and psychotherapy. I i have set up a private practice in wexford. I found that my degree was lacking in the area of CBT and I now really want to do a cert course or maybe dip in CBT. I have looked at the PCI one which looks good, although it is a little pricey.
Can anyone reccommend a good CBT course.

    many thanks

    Lou

Trinity College, but it's about 10 grand to do. PCI is probably your best bet, although IICP prob do one also

A good CBT course is one which adheres to the European standards. See EABCT or BABCP for the kinds of standards which are applied.

There are some awful courses which claim to give CBT training and which hand out certificates for very few hours - beware!

TCD, Queens, and some few others in Ireland - why don't you contact the NACBT or IABCT for information? Both organisations are affiliated with European bodies. Website links are in the 'How to find a Counsellor' sticky.

I've heard great things about the one in TCD!
