    Hi all,

I searched around and this hasn't been answered definitively I don't think. I need something for the gable end of a house, looking over a 20m * 30m back garden. I want it to be viewable from phones and pc so it needs to be:

    Outdoor
    Nightvision
    IP
High resolution (licence plates at night)
(preferably) have Wifi, but not essential.

Don't care if its dome or bullet or whatever shape. Budget is 400e and i'd prefer to buy irish after the last camera didn't survive its first winter and internet merchant didn't care

For night vision & guaranteed reg plates from that distance your looking at very specialist equipment.

20metres? really? hd camera not do it? what about faces from 20m (for the purposes of making an educated guess as to who it is, not necessarily enough to take a still put it on the side of a milk carton)

It would be dependent on the location, environment and conditions. How much are you looking at spending?
Are you going to be looking directly at oncoming traffic?
I wouldn't be making promises or gaurantees of capturing reg plates with basic IP cameras.

To cover an area that size with one camera for 400 euro is not going to happen
Have a look at hikvision 3MP dome or dahua cameras, there's plenty of demo videos online. This will give you an idea of what to expect
