Any other advantages to one material over another I should be aware of, e.g. noise or stability? FWIW, the aluminium ones are €40-50 more expensive which I'm more than happy to pay if they're actually better.

Aluminum ones can have an aftermarket resistance device added.....plastic cant so far as I know. I don't think there is any difference in tyre wear (almost none) or noise
