    Hello everyone...

Now im thinking of buying my first car, i got learners premit license.
But when i look at all adds i get confused ...
I dont look cars like micra and punto, no offence to the owners , just dont like these.
But considering they engine size they are perfect for first time incurer.
I do love bmw 3 series and mercedez benz c180 coupe.
Would 1.8 or 2l engine size increse my incurance costs by alot that 1l or not really? Does itdepent on what car it is what make?

    im 24 male btw

Insurance is heavily weighted on engine size
Why else would all learners start out on little 1.0 liter biscuit tins.

Once you get a couple of quotes those micras puntos and so on develop a certain attraction.

Of course you won't drive on the roads unless accompanied by a qualified driver?

Under 25, first provisional and getting your own insurance, I'd say you're looking at 2-3k for a 1.8 - 2 litre car regardless of make... If you get quoted at all.

what about them 1l engine cars? would it be slighty less for incurance?

Definitely. Insurance companies also offer better rates on insurance for young drivers with conditions attached.

Check out Aviva, Chill and Liberty for their inexperienced driver policies.

And just in case you missed it, it is illegal to drive a car on your own with only a provisional license.

I'd be looking at a VW Lupo / Fox /Polo 1.0, you can play with susp. and wheels etc

Take it from an old hand, DON'T be giving your hard earned to motor tax / insurance / petrol co's yet until you've enjoyed youth :D
