Advice on single phase to three phase converter

Hi all, was thinking of buying a steam/hot power washer for washing slatted shed, machinery etc.

Three phase Machines are way cheaper to buy and have more output as in litres per minute.

I have a three phase converter in the shed that came with something I bought years ago.

Just wondering would it work ok, or has anyone tried this before.

Usage will be low, biggest job will be washing the shed once a year.

    Grateful for any help.

there are 2 types. rotary and static, cant remember which but i think it was the statics that were scrap. try it out. the kw spec should be written on it somewhere. make sure the power washing unit is rated below this. It should be ok but its better check anyway.

I was buying a big fancy compressor for right money but the 3hp 3 phase motor was gone. I was going to get a single phase motor and just swap it. Will the start up loads be too much for the single phase motor. Presume if I changed the pullies around I could sort it

The higher output of water litres per min on the 3phase power washer may be less if ran on a 3Phase convertor. ..it may not be powerful

Was doing some more research today,

    Seems it might work alright.

The big advantage is no one can borrow it :-)

Thanks for the input lads. Will report back when I have news (if I haven't blown the main fuse)
