I suppose the driver has a big question to answer.

Ya, he'll be in the spotlight allrite, but i'm sure he didn't do it on purpose.....depending on the time of night ect. fuel isn't always available. I'm not familiar with the motorway from cork to Dublin are there many service stations along the route?

There's a Topaz at Brown's Barn just before Newlands Cross

We need more of the facts before jumping to any conclusions about whether this is the result of cutbacks or human error on the part the driver or whoever.

Disappointing to see the opposition health spokespersons jumping on the bandwagon without any of the facts.

NAS personnel are very aware of how unreliable the emergency ambs are! we are blowing a boost pipe in a unit almost weekly & you're lucky if thats all. All of he fleet is in a shock'in state in all regions. Out of the 21 amb in the area last month 11 were broken down! & now with winter approaching/call volume increasing/staff shortages its only going to get alot worse.

Its not healthcare any more only moneycare!!

If it is due to cost cutting its a disgrace seeing as the HSE can afford to give free medical appointments to Roma...

I've no idea, news reports said Newlands so that's all I can base it on. There's another petrol station the exit before, towards Newcastle , but this is off the main road a bit again no idea if this was before the ambulance stopped.

If they did run out of fuel then unless the gauge wasn't working it's not a breakdown. But I've no idea what happened apart from what's in the news and I know how inaccurate that can be.
