As you might have guessed from the title, I am indeed from Drogheda. I don't have the time to be travelling up to Dublin nor the money, so I was wondering if anyone knows of any particular places in Drogheda were gay people, mainly lesbians, tend to hang out? I'm only 18 so I don't really know of any places in town plus I don't seem to have any ''gaydar'' yet, probably because I'm a tad inexperienced...

You would be lucky to find anything, being a local myself. Nearest place with some sort of "scene" is Dublin.

    Well there is Dundalk Outcomers

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Only a support group really though with a night out every so often? I know they on something in The Planet Bar (ex Star and Crescent) back in August.

It's a lot more than a support group really

They have a drop in centre

They run womens nights and mens nights

    They have a youth worker

They are also involved in Dundalk Pride (I think)

Unfortunately there is nothing in Drogheda for Gay people. I remember about 10yrs ago there was a night advertised in Star& Crescent (Planet Bar) My GF at the time and I were so looking forward to it. Turned out we were the only Gay's in the village. We laughed for months over it.
