starting college need advice on buy laptop

    Im starting college this week and i am in need of a laptop for research and course work as well as doing projects . I was told not to lget anyting under 2.5ghz as i need someting fast and efficent to work with excell office and stuff. price range 400 to 550 . Looking for advice on what type to buy also where is the best place to buy. Thanks in advance for any help

    If you can stretch you budget by another 30 yoyos, you'll get "ghz galore" ;)

    Quad Core i7 Acer laptop at SOL for £478 (€578 w delivery).

    Probably the best performance you'll find und €600.

    Thanks for the reply. Should of said my bugdet is flexible so could strech it for the right laptop. Just not sure what a good deal is so thanks for the advice

    It doesn't get any better than a quad Core i7, they're light years ahead of their little dual core cousins.
