The awkward moment when you start humming to.../strange songs that pop into your head

In a friend's car earlier and a catchy new tune comes on the radio, I find myself humming along and thinking "this is quite good!"

Till I find out its this

Last week the new One Direction song kept popping in my head as I had breakfast

    :(

What songs have you started humming along to till you found out who it was by or what cheesy/strange songs have popped randomly into your head and decided to take up residency for awhile?

Working closely with a Spanish man, I found myself humming The Macarena several times.

    Poor man :)

Bit embarrasing when you song like "sometimes I park in handicpaed places, while handicaped people make handicaped faces" only to have people stare at you with mild disgust

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Now that you mention it, this song popped into my head earlier today completely at random. Particularly the last 40 seconds or so

This happens to me all the time :( Couldn't sleep one night last week cause "Brimful of Asha" was stuck in my head

I also woke up one morning humming Snoop Dogg's "Drop It Like It's Hot" (a song I haaaaate). That was not a fun day.

Woke up one morning with Marley's Buffalo Soldier playing a loop in my mental jukebox

Another weird trip is thinking of a tune I haven't heard in ages then hearing it in a pub or shop somewhere.

I found myself singing some Frank Zappa to myself...he's a dangerous man lyrics-wise to be humming at any volume...

I'd have a wide variety of taste in music that I listen to on my phone, plenty of awkward moments when I'm out in public and the earphones plug would come out by accident and the music goes to loudspeaker, I could be listening to Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Cheryl Cole, Kesha...

I'm quite liking this at the moment -

I became a fan of this song when I heard it first.

Then I found out it was sung by Taylor Swift. I know I shouldn't like it, but...

And yes, I have heard the duet with the goat. :pac:

Jesus, my boyfriend is CONSTANTLY humming this.

Together 10 years, he's been humming it since we met. He'll be at the sink, washing dishes, humming it.

He'll be mowing the lawn.. "had a very shiny nose".
He'll be in the shower.. "and if you ever saw him".

I've begged him, nay THREATENED him to stop or I'm gone but on he goes.
    On and on and on.

He doesn't really hum it at Christmas time though?

There was a while there where Jump Around was on the radio everytime I was in the car with my 3 year old. He decided that he liked it and would shush us to listen to it. Harmless enough. We knew he'd move on to something else in no time...

Then we had to get his passport papers stamped in the local Garda station and the song came on during the drive over. It wasn't until we got inside that we realised our folly. "I never eat a pig because a pig is a..."

Never before was the normally contraband Angry Birds deployed with such speed.

Speaking of which, Jesus I remember when this was released, people went berserk when it came on the radio, and yet hard as they tried to resist, they couldn't help singing along with the words! :D

Since the new RTE ad for Love/Hate has been airing, I keep singing "ging-gang-goolie-goolie-goolie-goolie-watcha, ging-gang-goo, ging-gang-goo"

Yesterday in the ask a mod thread someone asked "do you like a lot of chocolate on your biscuit" and I had that stupid Club Milk song stuck in my head most of the day, untiiiiiiil I went to see We're the Millers last night and since then I've had TLC's Waterfalls stuck in my head

Thankfully I haven't sang either of them out loud yet.

A Justin Bieber song a few months ago, I'm a Gothic Metal fan so my music tastes are as far away as you can get from Justin.
