During the mid 00's I really fell away from rap/hip-hop, have ye any recommendations on some new artists I should give a listen too.

Hopefully you'll find some stuff you like from that list.

You'll get a whole bunch of Kendrick Lamar suggestions, and rightly so. Another couple of rappers to check out are Schoolboy Q, Pusha T, Sweatshirt Earl, Chance the Rapper and Run the Jewels.

Childish Gambino. Both his album Camp and his latest mix tape Royalty are quality IMO.

Exhibit C might be the best hip hop track of all time imo.
