Thanks OP, but how am I going to get any work done today now!
    NICE SITE though!

It does show how a lot of sellers are trying to game the system though

They put their item for sale for £50 and then a few days later reduce it to £24.99 which is a price cut of over 50% and this brings them under the radar for people only searching for discounted items.

The item was never worth 50 quid in the first place

There are also 'yo yo prices' where you can see the price changing regularly from unrealistic high price to lower 'discounted pricing' in order to show up as discounted items.

The graphs on the http://www.adquisitio.co.uk site are really handy so we can easily spot such shenanigans

    Cheers OP

Maybe, still a good site, would encourage you to buy a load of shinola you don't need though :)

Now if only someone could get amazon to actually sort by price when you cick sort by price we'd be laughing.

Nice price for a dremel! http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dremel-3000-Series-Multitool-Accessories/dp/B0078LENZC%3FSubscriptionId%3DAKIAJAW2OPIOVGOJC6MQ%26tag%3Dadquisitio04-21%26linkCode%3Dxm2%26camp%3D2025%26creative%3D165953%26creativeASIN%3DB0078LENZC

It's not, not really for that model, saw it yesterday. I'm looking for a Dremel at the minute, there are better offers that come up every now and then.

Admittedly it's not the worst, but if you are planning on buying one, i'm going to wait a bit, the better one's will come up again.

You hit the nail on the head of people on here, they go buy stuff simply because they think they're getting a discount, but they're buying something they don't need and probably won't use so in the long run they're not gaining anything

I remember someone going on about saving money on wine by buying in bulk on here, buying anything in bulk works out cheaper

I wouldn't read too much into the Amazon pricing for watches - they're always putting the likes of Invicta watches for a fraction of their "RRP", so it seems like a great deal. That's not to say that they're not worth what the sale price is; but it's unlikely you're actually going to get a watch that's worth much more than what you paid.

Edit: sure enough - the first item I see:
Invicta Men's Quartz Watch with Black Dial Chronograph Display and Black PU Strap 13935
    Price: £79.35(-85%) Previous: £529.00

I doubt it. I've seen something similar to that few times, - the crazy high price is in stock, but can take months to deliver.
I'd imagine it's some sort of 'clever' marketing.
You see it 'reduced' from £529stg, or €624.22 on Amazon Germany for example.
Then you go to cross check it on elsewhere, and it appears on another amazon for that price, - ergo, you think you got a bargain.
I'd say the few months to deliver is to detract somebody from buying it, possibly something to do with consumer rights. They can yell 'misprice' if somebody does ever call them up on it.

Another few completely different prices here:
    HQshop - (€109)
Ebay Auction Price - (€94 incl Delivery)
    Langtoninfo - (£775.29stg )

It's quite hard to find, i'd imagine that also has something to do with being able to price it with such a massive difference.

    Some interesting breils:

Watches are a bit of a scam - unless they are Swiss made or are actually of high quality - at those discounts, generally you are paying for a few euros of Chinese quartz unit with some fancy aesthetics

They often price themselves high to come across as a fashion watch (not singling out Breil here)

Basically watch guru's avoid these things like the plague, but yah at the end of the day if you like it go for it, but don't be fooled by the high price reductions, they are "worth" 20 to 60 quid to start with.

You can get watches old, new, good, not so good, end of line, discontinued, fashionable, functional, cheap, expensive etc.. at tictactime.ie.

Some nice looking ones, but i never know if they are really on sale/cheaper than usual, or if thats what they're worth anyway.
In fairness to them they never call their prices "Sale Prices", they just say "Good Deals".
Also €10 to deliver :( But i think that's the price if you order any amount (Within reason).

Often have been going to post a thread about them, but never have..

Ah, I wouldn't say they're worth that little. The watch above has the same ETA movement that's in a couple of Tissot models which would retail for over 300, so it's not complete tat.

INVICTA watches always seem to be sold at 60%-75% off the "RRP" - have seen the on Amazon, on ebay, other websites, even on cruise ships, etc etc.

Absolutely - I said something similar earlier. I was just saying that they're probably not the worst buy for their sale price (under 100 or so). I think I read that some Invicta watches use very decent Seiko movements, so they could be a good buy (still wouldn't myself though).

invectas are notorious for their discounts, no one who are interested in watches takes any notice.
