Provisional Licence Expiring

My 2nd provisional licence is set to expire in the middle of October.

What I'd like to know is, if I book a driving test tomorrow and for example get a test date in January, would I be given a 3rd licence or permit without having to do the theory test and mandatory lessons?

    Any help would be appreciated.

If you had your first provisional license/learner permit before April of 2011, you don't have to do the 12 mandatory EDT lessons. If you got it since then, you do. As long as you don't let your license lapse for 5 years or more, you won't ever have to do the 12 lessons or re take your theory test.

If you book your driving test, you will get a 3rd learner permit. You just have to provide your test date confirmation email/letter to prove that you have applied to do the test.
