I've only started to watch wildlife this summer and I was wondering what sort of animals I could expect to see during winter. I would be going in late December, as I have college til then. Also what areas of north Wicklow would be good to visit at that time of year. Thanks for your time.

Bray Harbour is good for watching gulls and there is a chance of Porpoise and Bottlenose Dolphin offshore. In Greystones you can find Purple Sandpiper, Turnstone and Rock Pipit and the coast from Greystones to Wicklow is great for ducks, swans and geese. With a bit of luck you can see Otters along here too. These guys (https://www.facebook.com/birdwatchwicklow organise regular outings and talks in north Wicklow.

Thanks, I'll definitely give these places a visit. The link is broken for me. Although I found Bird Watch Ireland Wicklow Branch, was that who you where talking about? https://www.facebook.com/birdwatchwicklow?fref=ts
