I am looking to buy a laptop, something that I will still be able to use after 3/4 years.

    My budget is €1000.
    CPU: i7 3rd/4th gen.
    RAM: 6GB.
    GPU: HD 8970m / GTX 780m.
    Screen: 15"/17" FHD.
    HDD: 750GB.

So I have found a Sager laptop built on clevo P150SM, it costs about €1000 but the shipping from US and the import tax will make it much too expensive.

I am wondering where I could buy something like this but from a European shop.
Any other suggestions are welcome too :)

PC Specialist and MYSN/Schenker sell Clevo laptops in the UK, Custom PC in Ireland (but they're rather expensive). However, there's a snowball's chance in hell to find a Core i7 laptop with a GTX 780M for 1000 yoyos anywhere in Europe. A GTX 765M is the best you can hope for with your budget.

The Vortex IV is the cheapest model with high end GPUs at PC Specialist, with a Haswell Core i7, 8 GB RAM, 500 GB HDD and HD 8970M it costs 1,455 (€1,660 w GTX 780M).

The Optimus V costs €1,018 in the following configuration:

And that is avout as good as it gets (you can save €95 if you already have an operating system).

    Thanks for the answer.
I wonder why prices in Europe are higher than prices in US + shipping + import tax. Is it a lack of competition on the market or is it something else?

I don't really need a laptop for right now, so I guess I will wait a couple months until the prices go down. I hope they will go down to €1000 in about 5 months, right?

Well, 23% VAT is obviously the biggie.

But that's not all. I don't really know why but if you replace the $ sign with a € sign, add 10% and then apply the VAT you'll get a pretty accurate estimate of what a computer will cost here compared to the US.

I'm afraid not. I don't think you'll get a Core i7 laptop with a GTX 780M in 5 months for €1,000... unless you'll buy 2nd hand, and even that I doubt very much.
