Building my new PC Soon now hopefully, Just doing the final math in terms of how much I can spare towards it but I can only afford to get either an SSD or HDD. I know can get a HDD later on down the line as install the OS on the SSD but I have ALOT of games on steam and after the 30gigs that windows 7 takes up id only have 80 gigs left, Id salvage my old HDD but Im giving my old pc to someone else.

    Whats your guys opinions?

    Just get the HDD then.

Get the SSD, do you really need to have all your old Steam games installed simultaneously?

I'd get the SSD. HDD's are pretty cheap these days, so might not take as long to save for one of those.
In addition, you can have the OS already installed on the SSD when you get the HDD. If it were the other way, you'd have to go through the hassle of re-installing your OS.

To keep your options open if you do get a HDD, you might as well make a C: partition that will be a little bit smaller than the SSD you plan to get.

You are probably better off doing a clean install onto the SSD, but this would give you the option of simply cloning to the SSD and making a few OS specific SSD tweaks if you wanted instead of a full reinstall.

thanks for all the feed back :)
Finding the dissension hard :/ Like Id love to get an SSD first so I don't have to do a clean install of windows again later down the line but then again I love just coming home and having a ton of games I can choose to play (Im addicted to steam sales xD), though I could problem get a 1tb hard drive a few weeks after I build the computer, Reason I can't wait is because I promised the build Im currently using to someone else by early November.
