    Thats exceptional value.

Sure the price if the oil alone will set you back that much.
(Skoda use Castrol Edge Professional - 5w/30 when servicing diesels).

Amazing price, has to be a loss leader Parts alone would almost come to this.

I dont think you will even get the parts / consumables for €40.

    Its some loss leader alright.

I wish Sinnot autos in wicklow had this!

Great price all right but that's assuming they find nothing wrong with it while they are doing the service.

I have heard stories about a chain of tyre centres doing "cheap" services and then "discovering" all sorts of problems that need immediate fixing and then larger unexpected bill.

You can't win. What if they didn't spot something that needed attention?
They offer those prices to get the car in and give it the once over as per a service and make their money on those items.

Indeed - I had an expereince with "A well known National Service center" in Cork - basic service was €99 then... claimed the discs were warped and wouldn't let the car out of the garage on saftey reasons unitl they were replaced. Had no choice at the time but to get t done for €300.Got the old discs examined by a main dealer and they were fine! Ended up going to the small claims court to get the money back which I did !

My point is the "Tyre Centre" I was talking about were discovering problems that either didn't exist or weren't as bad as they said and as IRCA has said
they wouldn't let the cars out in some cases.
Hard to say no when the car is in and being checked.

You wouldn't, so I'd be checking they are actually doing a full service, rather than some kind of check.

If they tried that on me they would be wearing the discs. That can't be legal.

The garage can't stop you from driving away your car. It was your own fault for paying them, you just encouraged them to do it again!

Just an update date on this. They did exactly as was advertised and checked for any other issues. All that came up was a replacement front tyre. Furthermore they hoovered inside and cleaned the car before collection. Excellent customer service.
