Audi A6 Climate control/Air Con

Hi all, need some advice about the climate control on my A6 C5 1.9tdi 2004, have the car about a month, its the first car I owned with a digital climate control set-up. No matter what setting I have it on I can't get it to blow proper cold air.

So I went and got a purge and re-gas, no leaks were found and it was re-filled with gas by the machine. Still couldn't get it to blow cold after the re-gas.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding how the system operates but should I be able to get it to blow ice-cold on demand, regardless of cabin temp? Does it have to be a particularly hot day for the A/C to be noticeable?

The compressor is common to go on these, you should be able to notice the air con regardless of the temperature. Where did you get it regased did they check to see if the system was building up pressure?

Ya econ is off. Pipes dont get cold anywhere in the engine bay. Might bring it to a specialist.

Is the compressor running? You should hear it click in when your turn off econ. It could also be something as simple as a relay.

No audible noise or difference is made by switching econ on and off... I presume the compressor is clutched because its pulley is definately spinning all the time

You should at least hear a click when you turn off econ and the engine revs will rise very slightly.
