Hi, I will be moving into a new house on Friday and need to choose a electricity and gas supplier. If I choose Electric Ireland will I be connected straight away? Can you tell me regards deposit as I was planning on going on direct debit.

    Thanks

    Hi Limerick85,

Do you know whether the property's power supply will be connected when you move in? If it is, we can register you for electricity and gas accounts at the point you move in, once you provide us with meter readings taken there and then.
If the property's power supply is not connected, a reconnection would need to be arranged.

Paying by direct debit eliminates the security deposit, and if you register for our electricity and gas price-plan online, you can avail of up to 10% off units used on each fuel, per bill and a €30 credit starting off.

Do let us know how we can assist you further.

We are here until 6pm and back from 8am tomorrow.

    Regards,
    Una

    Thanks for your help.
Yes, the supply will be connected when I move in.
I will go on direct debit, can I sign up over the phone and receive all the discounts that you mentioned above? Or do I need to do it online to avail?

Lastly, will I just receive one bill going forward for gas and electricity every 2 months or will I be getting 2 separate bills?

    Thanks for your help

    Hi limerick85,

We have a Sales team available Monday-Friday 8am-8pm and Saturday 8am-6pm who would be able to process the above registration for you. Their number is 1850 30 50 90, and they would be able to apply the ValueSaver price plan with a 10% electricity and 10% gas discount. If you opt to switch over the phone however, you would not be able to avail of the €30 credit. That is given for switching online only. I can arrange a callback from the Sales department if you wish, just PM your full name, contact number and a time and day which would suit you to talk. It would be preferable if you could PM your MPRN and GPRN also.

We bill bi-monthly, and you would receive a separate electricity and gas bill.

If you've any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

    Kind regards,
    Aoife
