Trying to decide on laptop (Asus vs Samsung)

Hi, trying to decide on what laptop to buy and at the moment I've narrowed it down to two machines which I think will be best, but I just can't decide between the two. Budget is €700 and will be mainly used for college work (Microsoft office and also running several software programmes to do with my course), multimedia (streaming and downloading), internet browsing and maybe a small amount of photoshop and light gaming. 15.6" screen and something that's relatively lightweight and a compact/sleek design would also be an advantage. I would also like at least an i5 processor as well as 500 GB hard drive and 4 GB of RAM.

Based on that I've narrowed it down to the following two models. I'd be very interested if anyone has any opinions or experience with either as there are very few online reviews of them that I could find. Any other recommendations would also be appreciated.

    Asus ASUS K Series K56CB-XX396H

    Samsung NP510R5E-A01UK

I would also be very interested in hearing anyone's thoughts on Asus' "instant functions" and if they actually enhance the Window's 8 experience, as they describe:
    Experience ASUS instant functions
ASUS has developed a range of Instant Functions especially for Windows 8, enabling fuller immersion in the new operating system. With just one key press, engage and load up Instant Functions for more customization options and more personal interaction with your computing environment. The interface design puts you first, so it’s utterly user friendly, offering quick settings and direct access to your content. You can change the way your ASUS K56 works and feels in seconds!

    Thanks!
