Am looking for HR and cadence.

Little bit off topic. I was considering getting myself a 510. Just one quick question...does it sync with strava? Thanks in advance

I'm in the process of getting an Edge 810 with the performance and navigation bundle from Ebay for €382 + €94 import duty.
It's coming from Israel, so it's cheaper but you'll have to pay import when An Post deliver it.

Not directly. If you have a smartphone, you can use the Garmin Connect app to automatically upload your rides to Garmin Connect (Garmin's online social service). If you've signed up to Copy My Sports, it will pick up your activity and upload it to Strava. CMS are a pretty small outfit, so that can take a while - for the moment you'll probably be quicker just to plug in your 510 and upload it directly to Strava. The fact that their site is down at the moment is illustrative of their performance.

No garmin can upload to strava in real time. It can however upload to garmin connect in real time via Bluetooth on an android/ios device and you can share the link via email, Facebook etc so others can view your spin in real time also.

I dont really use garmin connect. Was just wondering did it have the same function with strava. From what I can see you can upload it via your phone to strava once you are done. So thats handy

The only way to get your data from your phone to strava is via copy my sports as rab has already pointed out, and that can take anything up to 8 hours. It's a total PITA that strava doesn't support direct connection to Bluetooth enabled garmin devices.

Can't you export as a .gpx file on PC or tab/smartphone and upload to Strava? This is what I do sometimes on another app I like, Sports Tracker.

You can directly upload from a garmin to strava via PC or MAC, but it cant be done directly from a phone.
