Willie Frazer to 'dress as a muslim'

This was in today's Newry Democrat. My favourite parts are how he's going to "go the whole hog" and how dressing up as a muslim means "hooks for hands and all." His notion that there has been a law created specifically for muslims is also worth a laugh.

He is indeed, what's worrying is the amount of support he seems to have, or even, active support aside, the amount of people who are willing to let him appear as if he speaks for them

He's been knocking about for years making various ludicrous claims and engaging in (unintentionally) hilarious publicity stunts but he latched onto the fleg lunacy earlier this year and that really gave him the attention he was after.

He speaks on behalf of nobody but himself. He's not elected - everyone knows that.

The media give him airtime because he consistently provides comical little soundbites like those you put in your original post. If he wasn't so "out there" or crazy he'd be like every other opinionated person when it comes to the media - appearances few and far between.

Fleggers have been more than happy to allow him to front their "movement" and mainstream unionism has been slow to condemn him. His group got Robinson to do a u-turn on the maze and just last night he was in Newry and Mourne District Council looking them to condemn the SEUPB flanked by UKIP councillor and Euro candidate Henry Reilly and UUP MLA/Regional Development Minister Danny Kennedy, where his motion was supported by both the UUP and DUP.
