    Why?

    Suppose it's just a hunch...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,166 ✭✭✭Fr_Dougal

    Why?

The WSJ lost all credibility when it was bought over by Rupert Murdock, it's now a tabloid. So the WSJ expects us to believe that there is a chronic crystal meth problem in NK? They can't even get inside the country it's so well locked down. Crystal Meth is more of a Western drug, the US have a huge problem with it. Very convenient to say that NK, a communist country that they have a huge dislike for, has a chronic crystal meth problem and is now exporting it to the rest of the world. Pure bs.

And because it is a western drug it can't travel to the east? North Korea is a closed society so no media can penetrate it despite constant media flowing out of the place? Don't talk daft and don't assume a media outlet is biased just because it's American.

So Nth Korea's drug production and selling to the west for cash (which NK desperately need) has become home based and now the people are addicted.

    That's so funny.

Let them run wild against kimmy

Apparently it's eased up a little over the last couple of years...tourists can take photo's/videos of pretty much everything...they really do hate Amrk though...so i wouldn't be surprised if a little was sent back.

14 us dollars for the PDF!

Standard issue for academic research articles. Surprised it's not more to be honest.

Huh, that's nothing. The North Koreans eat their dogs, now that's bad-ass. Once you've supped on Lassie, a bit of meth is lightweight.

NK is not communist, not even close to communism so take your anti-US rant elsewhere.
It is also a state with a vast amount of problems and a ****ty standard of living. It's not hard to believe it would have major drugs problems, be it meth or otherwise.

Well it purports to be communist doesn't it? It's just a particularly rigid version of it. I agree with you on the anti U.S. thing though. Nobody can prove for definite it's propaganda.

It's pretty damn communist. It's a communist dictatorship but still communist. They were originally stalinist then veered towards Maoism and now they folow their own communist philosophy called Juche. It's incredibly nationalistic. Everything is centred around the Kim family and the DPRK. Because one of the founding tenets of communism was about a global fraternity of workers it means that there are huge differences between Juche and say Leninism. but in practice it's the same difference for 99% of the people there.

You can't see the logic in the dictatorship getting a large portion of its population waiting for its next fix?

Am i wrong in thinking i heard that nearly all the meth seized in Ireland has been in Co Kerry ????

anywho - i bet the South Koreans and the Yanks are ****ing themselves at the prospect of dealing with the 3rd largest standing army in the world ( ? ) running at them off their faces on meth.

i smell a spin off - from band of brothers comes, " mates on meth "
