Just wondering how much, if at all, you all pay for tea and coffee in the staffroom? Was talking to a friend who doesn't pay anything and gets tea, coffee and biscuits every day. We've been asked to pay €100 a year for tea and coffee this year.
How does it work in your staffroom?

€40 a year for tea, coffee, milk and sugar.

It's being looked at again though because it ran short last year and the organiser was left out of pocket. Full accounts are done up and it's all bought at cash-and-carry. I don't see how they could get better value than they are getting but the €40 is just not enough.

We. Pay €50 twice a year for tea/coffee and social funds so any gifts for. Staff members comes from this too, maybe that's all included in yours too?

Staff in my school pay €15 a month. I and a number of other staff don't pay into it because we don't use the facility.

€15 a month covers tea, coffee, sugar, milk, biscuits. Having said that it's all bought in the local spar rather than cash and carry. So it's expensive. Don't know why it's done that way.

If people are paying in for 9 months that's €135. For what's provided it's not worth it, there's usually 2 packets of biscuits there and they are usually nothing special ( bourbon, custard creams etc are usually 1 of the packets).

We pay a €10 2/3 times a year, depending on how much tea/coffee we go through.....that covers milk and sugar too. We pay separtely into the social fund which is about €20 a year.

We pay a tenner every so often for what we use, so tea/coffee/milk/sugar are € 10 for each one .

It varies in our school depending on hours
Those on full hours pay 50 into the social committee and 20 into tea/coffee
Part timers pay half of those rates.
Biscuits etc aren't supplied but so far there's been some occasion each week and principal has supplied buns/cake/scones so its been a well stocked tea room so far 😊

We used to pay €20 every now and again, perhaps Max twice during the year but people started doing their own thing so now everyone just provides their own. It's a nightmare when there are visitors/subs......
    School provides milk.

100 for the year for tea, coffee, milk and gifts. We never have biscuits or cake. Last year we had thirteen retirements so we had to pay an extra 50.

We pay €35 for tea/coffee, milk and sugar (we bring our own biscuits if we want them) and sometimes an extra tenner if that runs out near the end of the year. We also pay €30 to the social committee for gifts flowers etc but if there's a retirement we pay extra for their present....have been about two retirements a year for the last few years.

We pay about 40 for tea coffee sugar and milk, and 50 for the social fund to cover gifts etc.
At the risk of sounding stingy I have a small issue with us paying for the tea and coffee of the small army of nurses that descend on our place a few times a year for a couple of days to do vaccinations. You can be sure they are on expenses for lunch etc when they are travelling around, while sipping away on what we pay for.

We used to have to pay €50 which covered tea/coffee/milk and social committee. There was a good bit of thieving going on, I think some people were taking loads of tea bags home with them!!! So tea/coffee supplies had to be locked and only a small amount was left out. Anyway staff complained and some staff only wanted herbal tea (which wasn't provided). Now we pay €20 I think which only covers social committee. There are still staff members who refuse to pay. There are rules with it Eg if you haven't paid sub you won't get anything from it. If there is a retirement a separate collection is done. Everyone needs to supply their own tea/coffee which is grand except when visitors come it is very awkward!!!

I pay a fiver for tea/coffee/sugar supplies two or three times a year, depending on when it runs out.

70e for the year, for tea/coffee/sugar
59 full time teachers, 3 caretakers and 3 secretaries
caretaker was caught thieving catering size tea bags and sugars
nothing was done about it. so disheartening when attempts were made to sort it out by some teachers. to no avail, secretary in 'charge' would not agree to hand over accounts/receipts/keep a balance sheet
    crazy really
