    Low cost finance like VW are offering I'm sure contributes to that. Often the case where you're as well off financing it even if you have to money to but it outright.

    Some of the really good finance deals (especially in the UK) are carrying a negative real interest rate - why wouldn't you take a loan where essentially, you're being paid to borrow and repay the money?
