In Sep 2010 I started a level 7 computing course in DKIT I was receiving the Maintenance Grant. I completed a year of the course and done the summer exams I failed a few and went back and repeated them during the Summer of 2011 but unfortunately I failed again. I subsequently left the course.

Fast forward to now and i'm doing a FETAC Level 5 E-Business course the course is a year with a option for a second year doing a Level 6. I'm receiving BTEA

I have been told that because I received a Maintenance grant for first year of my level 7 back in 2010 I would not get my fees paid for,for another level 7 course in first year i'd only get fees paid for for the second year and beyond.

Fast forward to now and i'm doing a FETAC Level 5 E-Business course the course is a year long with a option for a second year which is a Advanced Business course (level 6) Ideally i'd like to go straight into first year next year in DKIT doing a level 7 in Business and Administration but that would not be possible as I couldn't afford the €2500 fees.

What i'm basically trying to ask is there any way I could get my fees paid for, for first year and then get the maintenance grant from second year and beyond?

Generally you can't get free fees again if you dropped out unless it is 5 years or more when you return to education

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
