Flying from Dublin to Singapore via Paris. Can I buy duty free alcohol in dublin and bring it all the way to Singapore or will it get taken off me in Paris? Thanks.

You will be fine as your final destination is outsdie the EU

The issue is not customs, but whether you pass through security at Paris. Possibly not if flying AF, as you stay in the non Schengen area in CDG. Probably best to look at a website for CDG.

No it won't. The duty free shop in Dublin will place it in a tamper-evident bag and security in Paris (or any other EU airport) will allow it through. US airports don't use the same system.

They shouldn't, but there have been plenty of stories - on tripadvisor, for example - where the security person has confiscated such bags. There's rarely enough time to argue the point, particularly in a foreign country.

It's all very well being in the right, but it doesn't help if the other person refuses to believe that you have such a right.

This is what I'm afraid off. Ah well I will ask in Dublin airport and then decide.

You won't be able to buy duty free items in Dublin airport as your next destination is an EU country. In Paris you will be able to buy duty free as final destination is outside the EU.

There is duty free on arrival in Singapore, it really isn't worth all the bother.

More nonsense. You can buy duty free in Dublin as long as you have a boarding pass for your final destination outside the EU.

Just to let others know I bought alcohol in Dublin duty free and had no problem bringing it to Singapore and got through security in Paris ok too. It was checked by security in Paris but was In a sealed bag with receipt so was fine.
