But when I do it from my iphone it works fine
    any ideas?

I have Upnp Streaming enabled and airplay enabled
don't know of anything else to try

    Thanks!

Raspberry Pi is n't an android device.

What flavour of OS are you using on the PI?
    Wired or Wireless?
What devices have you got connected directly to the PI [keyboard, mouse, wifi dongle, storage, USB Hub]?
    uPnP and Airplay enabled where?

    Hi,

    I have it running Raspbmc
its connected wirelessly at the moment
the only other thing I have connected is a usb key that has movies stored on it but its not always connected.
under service/settings there were options to unable uPnP and Airplay
I have re-installed Raspbmc also but its the same
I cant remember the last time it worked but it may have been before I updated my phone OS to Android 4.2.2 but not 100% on that part

    Thanks

    Shane

From R-PI, do you "see" your phone as a video source?

You can't stream from device A to the PI, if the PI doesn't see it. Have a look tonight. Add a video source [uPNP]. I don't have the steps to hand, but it should jump at you when you look.

uPNP should be enabled on your phone too. It may be called Media [or Video] Sharing [or Streaming]

I didn't even think to try this, I've got an Rpi here gathering dust.

I got it as a present so I better not. I'm planning on using it for emulators at some point.

    Hi,
    finally getting round to this.....
i cant add the phone as a source, when i go into search for UPnP devices, the list is empty
i just tried to stream a clip from YouTube and it worked
but it took an absolute age to buffer
the clip was only 44 seconds and it took about 2-3 minutes for the PI to buffer it to 100% before it would play it
the longer the video, the longer the buffering
tired to play a video from the phone itself and the phone gives me error 501
    any ideas?
