hello people, just wondering was I justified in being pissed off.

Was at a wedding there not long ago, I had pre arranged with a friend at the start of the day that I would drop him and his girlfriend home at the end of the night,i had said that I would have a bottle or 2 of Budweiser well before 12 and we could head away around 3 or 4 o'clock in the morning, they were fine with this. I ended up having one bottle at 5pm, drank plenty of coke and water in the mean time, had another bottle around the 10.30 mark and finish it by 12, I'm a very slow drinker.

Anyway come 3am we were getting ready to leave, needless to say others heard I was driving, so I offered a spin to 2 of them aswell. One of the lads asks me am I driving to which I answer "I am", sure you were drinking all night he says, ah no I wasn't, he was nodding his head at me as if I was lying to him, so I ask him, how many am I after so? I don't know around 5 or 6 he says, so I explain what I had when I had them, mind you this was in front of a number of my friends and my friends who I had offered a spin home to, felt humiliated. He says I saw you chewing gum all night, as if to say I was trying to hide any alcohol breath. Soon after I get a bunch of questions from another friend asking me what I'm after etc etc, which I don't mind but the way the first guy is accusing me of drink driving, suggesting im trying to cover it up with chewing gum, nodding his head at me as If was lying, i wouldn't be offering people a spin home if i was over the limit, 1 unit to go through your system every hour or so?Felt i left plenty of time for it to pass through.
i was was ****ing fuming afterwards, left the place in a right bad mood.in the end I drove myself home.
So having said all that would ye be pissed off in the same situation or simply told your man to go **** off?

I hadn't offered him a spin home, I was expecting him to ask when he asked me am I driving home but I got all that ****e instead, there was no prob until this bollix highlighted the issue of me possibly drinking 5 or 6 as he said.

2 bottles over the 7 or so hours would have been fine. He probably thought you had more than those 2, to be fair an hour and a half to have a bottle is an awful long time

I bet he did but the whole trust thing between 'friends' shouldn't be an issue, I don't go around offering people a spin home if I knew there was any chance I'd be over, the whole nodding his head at me in disbelief as if I was lying, chewing gum etc etc.
Ya long alright but I'm not much of a drinker anyway. Didnt want to be tempting myself to get another if I finished it quickly, not that I would of.

Telling him to F Off would be the best option

Should have just told him, if he didn't believe you, to fuck off and call the guards and that you'd be happy to take a breathalyser. I'm all for people not standing for drunk driving but this fuckin' do-gooder was OTT. Fuck him, his horse, his favourite colour and everything he stands for.

    Joke's on him, I don't drink :pac:

Carlsberg don't do humiliations but if they did.......

Ya your opinion is grand but how would you like to be accused of lying about drinking and driving home in front of a bunch of people you know, i found it embarrassing as ****! I came here to ask what folk think about this, would of been happy to have a had a breathalyser test as I one of the lads said above. I don't know but come on, over 3 hours later after finishing a bottle which took I started at 10.30. I would of though any alcohol would be well gone whether it be a complete feather weight or whatever

You should have said you'd had about ten and were hoping you wouldn't meet any guards.

I wouldn't let an asshole like that bother me.

What a prick, OP you should've untied his shoe laces then ran off laughing.

Unless he was wearing loafers or something, then I can't help, sorry.

Dont entertain that shít OP. You should have said "I had two bottles, one when I got here and one about 3 hours ago. Anyone who wants a lift get in the car, anyone who doesn't dont and anyone who has a problem go fcuk yourself".

Ok while I'm having a good moan I'm going to throw this one out there, was at a friends bday, got a spin up with my buddy and his wife, handy having a spin as we all know. 25 mile drive up. Anyway we're all in a lovely pub, I asked my buddy's wife earlier on are ye heading to the club later or what's the story as that was the bday boys plan, she was saying we might, I casually said I might too ,not too sure yet, see what happens, turned out we stayed in the same pub up until after 12, so felt it was too late really to be heading there as a few of us had work the next day, so I ask ask my friends wife, so are we heading away so? She yells out sure theres no space in the car now, I reply sure ill walk home so, again this was in front of a few people.i got a spin up from her, how the hell was I supposed to get back.
**** sake, she didnt even ask me was I defo going to any club, I never said I was definatly going to any nightclub, She could of at least confirmed it with me before giving my space up automatically,Luckily my bro was in town got a spin back off him.
