Anti pollution is the diesel particle filter.

Try a 20-30 min drive down the dualler keeping revs 3k or slightly over.

If not get the eloys levels checked

"Antipollution Fault" can be anything from poor diesel to an airflow meter.

You really need to get it plugged in to see what fault codes are present...?

If it is fuel related and you think you got bad diesel the i'd let it run low or ideally drain the tank fill up with clean diesel and replace the fuel filter.

    What engine have you got...?

its a ST 1.6 HDI Estate 1.6 Engine year 2006
I read on Peugeot Forum & someone with similar problem cleaned filler cap &it worked for him. Has worked for me too Engine management light gone off for now. Im going to avoid small independent garages in future

Did you feel suction/vacuum when you removed the filler cap..?

If you do think you picked up poor diesel then its best replace your diesel filter and take it from there...:)

I'm amazed that cleaning the filler cap has worked but there is a connection and it seems to confirm my original suspicion.

These cars have a tank of special fluid called Eolys which is injected into the fuel to help regenerate the exhaust particulate filter. The life of the tankfull is about 70k miles, so if your mileage is anywhere around 60 - 80k miles you are due a refill.

The car detects when new fuel is added to the tank and injects more Eolys as required. It does this by detecting when the filler cap is opened and closed, so this could be a reason why cleaning the filler cap has had an effect.

I'm afraid it's not that simple. Eolys is a specific fluid for the job and costs about €70/litre. It's hazardous to handle and goes into a secondary tank. If you don't know what you're doing you should give it to a good indy who also has the equipment to re-set the system.

The factor might sell you something and swear that it's what all mechanics use for particulate filter problems, but it's nothing more than a fuel additive and not what's required.

Maybe yours is the 90 bhp which has no dpf...If its the 110bhp then is will have a dpf and normally a "low additive" warning is displayed when its running low.....Tbh the only way forward is to get it plugged into decent diagnostic equipment and report back the faults..;)

Could be a lot of things.....If your getting an Antipollution fault then there will be fault codes logged in the ecu so gets it scanned with some decent diagnostic equipment.
What part of the country are you based in as there maybe someone on here who can scan it for you...:)
