Should I go out alone on Saturday night?

    OK so here's the deal:

I'm alone in a new city. I've had a few beers in a local pub with the new housemate, but he cannot go out on the town and has retreated to his room.

I'm 32 years old, in a new city which is buzzing tonight due to a festival.

I want to meet a nice girl and think Saturday night out is my best shot at breaking singledom.

The question is - go out on my own or do I keep my dignity and stay in watching entertaining things on the web and face more solitary confinement?

Interested to know what people think. I'll make a decision between now and midnight.

Of course you should go out.
If we spent our lives waiting for other people to accompany us places, we'd go nowhere!
Go out, have some drinks, you might meet a girl, you might make new friends. Your whole life COULD change based on tonight, so go out there and embrace it

I can't help that people put themselves in these situations, I only provide the solution.

    North of England.

    Never heard of it.

    Never heard of it.

    Trying to protect my privacy!

It's a small city in the North West (not L'pool or M'chester)

8 minutes to go and the poll is saying I should go out by a 2 to 1 majority. To be honest I kind of fancy the idea of heading out and seeing where the wind takes me. If I stay here I'm guaranteed to wake up alone

I learnt everything I know about the North of England from Biker Grove and Two Pints of Lager.

It's grim up North...but the lassies are champion.

    Birmingham??

Of course you should go out.

It's almost certain that you'll end up being a victim of a criminal gang who harvest and sell human organs but there's a slight chance you won't.

    Go for it.

Carlisle. Jesus no. I'd rather live in crewe or Bolton. In fact I'd prefer Burnley. That's how bad Carlisle is.

I spent a night in Barrow once, if I'd stayed any longer I'd have had to change my name to The Forwards Man.

I'd like to retract my no vote...didn't read the OP. Go for it...just try not to look too creepy out on your own.

So you get chatting to some nice lass.

She asks ..... Where are your mates ?

If you say you are solo you may have to explain why.

You can say ..... Last one standing me. We started at 6 and went to x the y and the last two left 5 mins ago.

It happens anyway so consider telling a porkie pie, or the truth, new city to you.

So how is the great creep of 2013 going?

Alright so just got back after a night creeping on my new town.

As I was walking in to town I set myself the task of chatting to 10 girls knowing full well I wouldn't get close to that target.

    So:

Went to a lively bar, ordered myself a beer, felt nervous but had a look around and chatted to some girl and got shot down after a couple of mins.

Then I went to the local version of coppers, spent most of the night exploring the different levels, approached a couple of girls, shot down each time as usual.

Then I chatted to one Welsh girl who I got a drunken snog off and she also gave me her mobile number. Agreed to to take her out for a drink this week, and she's quite attractive with a cracking set on her!

As Del Boy would say, "He who dares wins"!

Not saying it was the best night of my life, but at least I have more than I would have had if I'd stayed home and had a w*nk!

The lesson I've drawn from this is: Don't think, Do. Men should be active givers of love, not passive opportunists.

    Stay positive people!

    ALLWAYS GO OUT!!!

If you try to say hello to a miniskirted hussy at the bar and she spits in your face at least you tried.
You'll never have that let down if you are home in your flannels eating Weetabix with warm milk......AND.....the spitface tramp in the bar may have actually looked at you, drooled and said "I don't care what your name is...I want you!"

    So there!
