Anyone know any I.D. that a pub might accept instead of my passport or age card? I look pretty young and have misplaced both. I have a birth cert but I reckon that'd get laughed out of the place to be honest.

I'm going to Dublin too which is meant to be very strict on I.D. Is there any other form that a pub would accept?

    Driving licence or student id.

Driving licence, student ID. That is realistically all anywhere will take.

They have zero proof a birth cert is your own.

What age are you / do you look? I haven't been asked for ID in a pub/club in Dublin since I was 22.

Tell them your only going for a quick pint because the Grandchildern are in the boot of the car.

    Works every time.

****. I don't drive, only now getting ready to sit the theory test, and I'm in my Leaving Cert year so I have no student I.D.

Time to find the passport or age card - you have nothing else anywhere is going to accept.

You best find your ID card or passport, wait for new ones or get a drivers licence because without them you wont be getting in anywhere in Dublin if you got a baby face. I know this from experience from when I was in Dublin that one time about 8 years ago.

Not all student IDs have your DOB on them now anyway. DIT's don't to prevent arguments about using it for drinking ID.

Try not to be obnoxious and obviously drunk, and they should let you in with a student ID.

Yeah very few student IDs have DOB on them now.

Anyone else get the sneaking suspicion that the OP is u18 and looking for ways around not having an ID with the right age on it?

This is where the ISIC card version comes in handy, if offered. Mine has my DOB on it, but as I'm old anyway and its a part-time course I've never had to use it. Except to get a pound off per pint deal in England and free entry in Cardiff :D

No, but I figured someone would say that. My brother is 26 and doesn't have a license. I'm doing the leaving but only turned 18 a few months back, so all I had was my passport and age card, both of which are missing in action the night before I have to go :(

I don't think there's any rescuing this night.
