TB Test for Factory Cattle

    Hi all

    Looking for some information.

    have a few cattle going to factory on Monday. Some going overage during the week.

    Think that one of them is out of test for TB as he was tested on 8th Sept 2012.

    My question has two parts;

    1. Is it still 12 months or am I imagining that it was extended that TB test covered for 18 months.

    2. If he is out of test, can I still bring him to factory.
    I know that heifers can be brought even if they are over 2 yrs old and haven't had brucellosis test.

    Too expensive a mistake to bring one and have him thrown in a skip and no payment so wanted to check with ye what the rules are.

    Thanks
    Tubby

    Work away. You will be grand. The department might write you a letter saying you have killed x% of your herd out of test but it means nothing

    As above once your herd has been tested in the past 12 months it is fine.

    I think the per animal limit is 18 months now nut in your case you are okay.

    Having a trading herd here only and these letters are the most annoying thong of them all. A figure of more than 20% not in test rings a bell for some reason....
