Repair sprayer

This doesn't really deserve a new thread but I know it will be swallowed up in chit chat especially on a sat night.

I was spraying during the week and just as I opened up the booms
The pin came out of the spring which holds the boom in place in my jarmet sprayer.

I thought I could pull the spring down but I ain't strong enough for that.there is a nut on he bar and I loosened that, put in the spring but then couldn't get the bar to thread as it was up too far.

Sorry not explaining it great due to a late night last night but hopefully these pics will explain what I mean.

Any ideas on how to fit it back in. This is how it should look. The other pics are what it looks like

G-clamp. If that doesn't work there is a special clamp for doing much the same job for coil springs in car suspensions.

    Same thing happened to me
Got a long length if timber and tied to d boom and used that to lever the bolt/ spring in place and d auld fella had to thread the nut on, I check every bolt every time I open thd boom now
I find the ones where the boom opens are always getting loose

Tie a loop of rope around it, the rope to something solid on the ground. Put the sprayer on the 3 pt. and lift gently.. the rope should pull down the spring.. or should I say the lift will come up and the rope will tension to compress the spring..

for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction..

+1. A set of spring compressors is what you need. I have them here in the shed, bang away if ya need them. Your at nothing if you can't don't compress the spring SAFELY!
