Headlamp level

So I have noticed at night when I am driving that my headlamp level isnt as high as it should be. I have checked that the motor is working as you can hear it whirring when the leveller is changed, however the light only moves minimally.

When I first bought the car, the level was high (imo where it should be), I have noticed in other cars the level that it should be but mine seems lower.

Any suggestions? It might look like I will have to get a new/replacement set of headlights though

    Car is 2008 Mk2.5 Focus

First-off, the headlight-level adjuster will only LOWER your lights. By deafult it should be set to "0" ... you can then select 1, 2 or 3 which will LOWER the level accordingly. Are you sure you're not selecting level 3 thinking this is the highest setting? (You'd use this option if you were towing a trailer or carrying a heavy load in the back to compensate for the tilt and avoid blinding oncoming cars.)

If you have self-levelling xenons its a different story.

You probably need to refocus/re-align your headlights which is a common requirement for cars as they tend to go out of focus from driving on bad roads or hitting pot holes etc. Its not unusual and is a commong "servicing" requirement.

I really doubt you'll need completely new headlights tbh, that's jumping the gun a little bit.

A re-focus is cheap and should do the trick for you :)

Its a basic job, any indy should do it for you in about 10-15mins .. 25 euro tops!

If youre in CA though im not sure how much it should cost

    Not in CA :D

Must say that the manual levels themselves on the lights are broken (as in the screw is damaged) Hope that doesnt hinder it

Well yeah, if they can't focus the lights becuase the adjusters are broken then yeah you probably do need new headlights :D

Bring it to Des Kennedy for headlight realignment first.
