Your nieces and nephews

I've 2 nieces and 1 nephew, all under the age of 3. Thoughts of anything bad happening to them absolutely makes my skin crawl, turns my stomach. Since they were born it's made me more sensitive to stories in the news about child abuse of any kind, an extreme sense of anger builds up inside me. It makes me want the death penalty to be brought in for child abuse of any kind! I honestly don't know how parents put up with this kind of feeling! Anyone the same?? I know, I need a box of chill pills.

You should keep them away from family members & relatives (such as aunts & uncles) as most abuse is perpetrated by these people.

Children are more likely to be abused by a relative, think it's something like 70% of all cases. Be vigilant, OP...it's someone you're related to!

It wouldn't take over my life now, but I see where you're coming from, I have a god child and when you hear about awful things that happen to children around the same age your blood goes cold, I can honestly say I'd do anything to protect them:o but they have extremely caring parents so I don't need to worry :P
