Car Manual in German

    Picked up my new (2nd hand) car this evening , took it for a spin and all is well.

    I just went out and grabbed the manual to have a flick through it... But it's all in German! Except the section for the radio which is in English.

    Anyone else come across this? I'll give the dealer a buzz tomorrow and ask for one in English but I'd have thought it would be standard practice to have the manuals in English for the cars here!

    It's especially strange though as the radio section is in English!

    Make/model/year/engine/etc please...we are all guessing the car manufacturer is German....:)...:confused:

    Sorry I didn't think it mattered as it was just a question about the manual!

    Very strange. I've a Jetta and the manual sections are in english
    Must have been a mix up at the factory. Goes to show how often the last owner looked at it!
    Dealer should sort this easily for you

    The servicing sections are stamped and filled in by Irish garages.... Even though they're ticking boxes that are marked in German!

    No need for Sorry but most manufactures have online versions of there various manuals....:)

    Maybe our Vw heads maybe able to help out with an online link for the vw Passat 2L diesel manual...???

    If your hands on then ELSAWIN may come in handy as a service manual..:)

    We have seen a good few VW's with German language manuals and service books. I'm not sure how it happens but it is not uncommon.

    Looks like specific manuals can vary from country to country so it maybe worth while getting onto to Wolfsburg to rectify this issue as they also supply the U.k....:)

    English manuals are very cheap from dealers. I bought a bound set from a VW dealer for a brand new import golf that had none for 15stg. Was reimbursed by the non main dealer supplying it after.
