Uncovered stadia

I can never figure out why so many football stadia in the States are not covered for fans. A lot of them are in cities that get some very unpleasant weather in winter and people pay a fortune to get drenched with rain or pelted with snow. Lashing rain in Boston last night. Is it part of the pioneering spirit and the crowd has to go through the same weather as the players? They could surely design a more comfortable environment for fans, while keeping any weather based homefield advantage on the pitch?

Sometimes the weather is part of the fun and the whole experience of going to a game.

I remember going to a Pats Ravens playoff game (the result i won't talk about) where it was -20C at 10am when we were tailgating. Everybody was basically dressed as lagging jackets in the car park before the game. Its funny to see a bunch of Michelin men running around at about 2 miles an hour trying to throw the pigskin and run routes. We couldn't drink our beers because by the time we were half way through the can, the beer had turned to slush...so we had to drink straight whisky  Also, there is nothing like having a BBQ in -20C weather also.

I think all weather is fun except for rainy days.

I'd love to go to Lambeau in the middle of winter.

The snow fireworks at Gillette after a TD are hard to beat. Feck Domes, they're only for nancy boys imo.
