Downey was down this way canvassing earlier in the year, don't know anything about Bergin. Flor McCarthy was looking at running, but he didn't think he had enough support.

Connacht VP election is coming up as well. Tom Turley defeated Galway Co. chairman Michael Flynn in a vote in Athenry there a couple of weeks ago. I hear there's possibly going to be another candidate from Roscommon, but I'm not sure who that is or whether they'll run or not as yet.

I would certainly be able for good session at the trough anyway. I would listen to your concerns at the ploughing match etc and take absolutely none of it on board. I will keep quite about poor beef prices aslong as I get a few extra quid when selling my own few cattle.

I have an auld cheap funeral suit I will use if im going on TV promoting ag and have the tie hanging down just to protray how backward we are

This wont be peace keeping as you know it SS , we're talking missiles such as rotten heads of cabbage , gluggers of eggs and buttermilk . I would expect all of these to start flying when bob starts to implement his plans on Irelands farmers :D

Cattle in the west will be cheaper with Bob gone off the scene.

He will have had plenty of practice waving his hands at the media too.

Rancher what the hell are you at if you don't want the job, I'd hate to have a half committed person representing me....

No one else interested in the job around here, wouldn't say I'm half commited, but it takes a lot of time away from the farm....find it hard to get time

President for the big fella, funded by the small fella.
Don't know anything about the two candidates. However, I bet neither one, is farming 70 acres of middling to poorish land, running a small suckler herd.

that's why it's so hard to get anyone to do anything in it. big vested interests protecting themselves all the while alienating the rest.

    Who elects them.
Farmers with less than 100 acres are in the majority in the membership.
Average farm size of members is 34ha.
The balls in your court if you want to change it, you have the numbers
