Shower Head: How to remove from the thread?

Not sure how best to describe this, but my shower head broke at the point where it is threaded into the flexi-tube section. I've since got a new shower head, but haven't replaced the tube section yet, was hoping to reuse it.

As they say a picture paints a 1000 words etc. Any idea how I can get the stuck section out to allow the new head to be screwed?

    Thanks

The picture isn't that great :o

A flat screwdriver, or a sharp knife might work to start the thread moving, once it starts you should be able to do the rest with your finger, that is if I have picked you up correctly

FYI: Got the threaded section out with a long nosed pliers and some brute force :-)
