Question: Is the phrase, "do you even lift?" a thing now?

Seen a few times on AH today, a bit of a "y*r* Ma" kinda phrase.

Apart from the obvious, what does it mean in memespeak?

"Do you even lift?" has been around for years.

Apparently it originated on some bodybuilding forum or other, in the form of a poster questioning the fitness/muscleology credentials of some thicko or other making a prat of himself.

I believe it originated in an episode of Jersey Shore where 2 guidos were posturing at each other looking for a fight and one of the comments from one tool to another was "Do you even lift brah?!"

I guess it depends on the context.
Be concerned if the word 'shirt' is in the same question.

Sometimes I lift things. Like food and drink to my mouth, shopping bags, skirts and whatnot.

Can you put your hands together!

Always seen big huge guys that can barley walk and have to go sideways through a door as their arms wont close!

Ya man I can lift but walking and clapping hands is an issue
