Buying one of these in a couple of days are they reliable ? And any idea of the mpg? Will be getting a mechanic to look at it anyway! Any ideas of the average cost for that year too
    Thanks

A relative has a 2007 that has been pretty faultless, a pal had one who hated it and had a lot of issues. The 1.6 is thirsty and a bit gruff, though not as bad as people would lead you to believe. Failed coils, handbrake and steering rack woes are not uncommon. I wouldn't touch one without a FSH and evidence of TLC though.

Cheers , would it be more thirsty than a Nissan qashqai 1.6 petrol ?
    So a mechanic would
    Notice any problems anyway ?
    Thanks

I'd try and stretch your budget to a 1.4 TSi instead if you can. The 1.4 TSi is more powerful and better on fuel.
