I can imagine some poor lad seeing a DIY Divorce payment and a coffin purchase on his credit card statement on the same day - wondering what his wife is planning!

Divorce can cost nothing when there's no kids, no family home or pension.

    Otherwise its a nightmare.

You can represent yourself in court, but I would not recommend it.

Told by the Judge get a solicitor otherwise you will lose.

What about the vasectomy offer and this divorce?

Should be a 2 for 1 offer - Cuts you off at the balls twice! :p

My ex got a DIY and it cost that person a lot. No rep in front of the
Judge etc. These people are cowboys. Charge 400 euro for downloading a
few docs which you can do yourself at any family circuit office.

Get a solicitor even if its for the day. Lots of good family law solicitors that
are reasonably priced in these austerity times.

I can't believe they've sold 20 so far! I know divorce is common enough these days, but buying via a bargain site!? So there were at least 20 people in the country who have been separated for min 4 years sitting around thinking "ok I'll just wait until I see a discount divorce available...."

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 131 ✭✭computer44

    You must be bitter.

Move on with your life, stuck in that mentality you will never
    meet anyone.

Or are you one of them fools that never quite measure up.

    Literally.

I used a diy divorce service last year and I thought it was brilliant.
It only works if you have no outstanding issues to resolve.

I got a judicial legal seperation in 2004 and it was prohibitively expensive. I bought out my ex at the time
and had the house signed over into my name. I was only seperated three years and was not eligible for a divorce.
My ex started living in the UK and returned last year.

I decided to go the diy route as it suited my circumstances.

I filled in the forms the service sent me out by e-mail. I had to get some of them stamped by a PC.
I sent my ex a set by registered post.

The diy service sent me a court date when they had received all the forms. It took three hours of hanging
around in Phoenix House on the morning and fifteen minutes in court. It took eight weeks for the divorce
    from beginning to end.

I find your comment offensive and ignorant of you alot people like myself can't afford big Solictor fees and as with life gota pay massive maintances fees as well as trying get our lives back to normality so I sure a lot not sitting round waiting on a bargain it the robbing bloodsuckers solicitors that charge massive fees on the less fortune . I got a legal seperation have all dealers sorted but at a price of 14000 euros from a solicitors so I can see why other people jumping at the bargain here

I did it myself, we had agreed everything so there were no issues. I had to get solicitors to sign two documents and send them registered post. I found the staff in courts very nice and helpful as was the Judge.

I found everything I needed either here in Boards or on askaboutmoney. I probably have copies of the documents I used, if you want them PM me an email address.

    Good Luck
